Assistant Service Manager
Eastern Lift Truck Co., a leader in forklift sales and service for 50 years, was built on the motto "We're Known For Good Service." We provide sales and service in all areas of the Lift Truck, Material Handling, Allied Product Business, and Compactor/Baler Repair.
We are expanding & looking for motivated people who wish to contribute and be a part of our growth. We are looking for an Assistant Service Manager for our Williamsport, MD branch location.
This individual will be responsible for managing the daily work of Field Service Managers and other team members in the Service Department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Hires, trains, oversees, Technicians
• Guides, advises and mentors Technicians
• Conducts performance evaluations that are both timely and constructive
• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed in accordance with company policy
Main Duties:
• Manages the daily work of Field Service Technicians
• Manages the Work In Process (WIP)
• Help to answer phones, help customers with technical questions
• Schedule and assist Field Service Technicians daily
• Assists Field Service Technicians on difficult jobs and when they need additional help
• Communicates effectively to customers on repair work as needed
• Works with other managers, sales representative and other staff to establish labor costs
• Assists, coaches, mentors, supports other service members and staff as needed
• Performs other related duties as required
Requirements:
• Thorough understanding of industry services, customers, procedures, and policies
• Material Handling Industry experience strongly preferred
• Ability to motivate, mentor and coach service staff and managers
• Basic knowledge of all technical aspects of forklifts, heavy equipment and other related Material Handling Equipment
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Technical and diagnostic skills required
