Responsibilities
Alta Equipment Company is seeking a full-time SQL Developer at our Livonia, MI corporate headquarters. In this role, your primary focus will be on utilizing SQL for data extraction and manipulation and creating insightful Power BI dashboards to visualize data trends and performance metrics. Responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to:
- Data Extraction & Manipulation: Use SQL to query and manage data from various databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Dashboard Creation: Develop, design, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards to provide actionable insights and support business objectives.
- Data Analysis: Conduct detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to support various departments and stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
- Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data quality and consistency by performing regular data audits and implementing validation processes.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of data sources, methodologies, and processes
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work in the US for any employer without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or other related quantitative fields
- Minimum 2 years of experience with SQL Server
- In-depth experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, etc.)
- Familiarity with CI/CD source control processes (Github, Bitbucket, Jira, etc.) is a plus
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
