PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

Plan and manage activities relating to the sales, rental, and used PSD Rental equipment, including the development, implementation, and administration of sales programs to ensure maximum profitability in accordance with the objectives of the company. Foster relationships with the extended Caterpillar Family to ensure the company’s national standing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  • Define & implement a strategy for profitable rental growth, through the engagement of all relevant stakeholders
  • Oversee time utilization and finance utilization for Temp Control, Electric Power and Compressed Air Rental Fleets
  • Develop and execute an annual business plan for the Power Systems Rental division that includes growth strategies for all revenue streams, rentals, repair and maintenance services.
  • Manage vendor relationships, relationships with CAT dealers, and high-level local customers.
  • Ensure territory coverage.
  • Work closely with the EPG Sales Business Manager and Rental Operations Manager to efficiently manage fleet assets including acquisition, allocation and disposal, and to build and maintain efficient operations that drive profitability and superior customer experience.
  • Ensure technical group receives the required training to maintain elevated level of product knowledge, and knowledge transfer to newer technicians.
  • The following positions report directly to the Power Systems Rental Manager:

 

PSD Rental Representative (4-6 employees):

  • Provides guidance of the company’s PSD Rental equipment territory activities and is accountable for customer relations, implementation of programs to enhance market penetration and ultimate effectiveness of PSD rental equipment activity.
  • PSD Inside Sales Representative (1 employee):
  • Implement inside sales position to cover other CAT dealers, facilitate growth among outside salespeople, and relieve coordinator workload.

 

Rental Operations Supervisor (1 employees):

  • Provides guidance for the company for Power Systems rental activities and is accountable for effective customer support on PSD Rental activity, implementation of programs to enhance market penetration and ultimate effectiveness/results for rental equipment activity.

 

Rental Coordinators (2 employee):

  • Responsible for all rental and used/conversion equipment invoicing, general administration, clerical, and secretarial activities.
  • Plan and manage used conversion machine sales activities within the organization to ensure maximum profitability for the company in providing Caterpillar and other products for compressed air, temperature control, Power Quality and related accessory products to contractors, end users in eastern North Carolina and Caterpillar Dealers in other markets.
  • Establish and monitor organizational effectiveness including unit structures, job and performance standards, utilization and motivation of personnel and use of other available resources to ensure direction and success in meeting stated rental and used equipment sales and profitability objective while being headquartered out of the Garner Facility Full time.
  • Participate as a member of the Power Systems Division Sales staff to plan and assess the PSD Rental Team integrated with Sales Team approaches and objectives that will increase overall profits.
  • Plan and establish annual revenue objectives for rental and used conversion sales in accordance with overall projections and assess performance to determine actions necessary to increase sales and/or profitability.
  • Manage Rental Equipment Inventories to maximize return on investment, control maintenance expenses and meet company inventory goals.
  • Evaluate the overall quality of PSD Rental sales efforts and introduce innovative approaches designed to enhance rental and used conversion revenue for the EPG Sales Department which contributes to overall success of the company.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

A 4-year degree, preferably in business or marketing.

 

Work Experience:  

10 years minimum experience in the used equipment and/or rental market with at least 3 years in providing management leadership to other sales professionals.

Physical:

The ability to periodically travel and stay overnight, via car and /or airplane.

 

Other:

Must have an intermediate skill level in using PC software, primarily MS Excel and Access. Must be a part of the ON CALL after hours support process.
