PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Maintains overall yard security by properly receiving/disbursing rental equipment and greeting and referring customers for assistance
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Greets all incoming customers arriving in the equipment yard.
- Inquires about customer’s interest and directs the customer to the appropriate sales, rental, or service representative.
- Controls incoming and outgoing equipment by greeting and directing drivers.
- Records and processes all incoming and outgoing equipment serial number on appropriate forms.
- Loads and unloads equipment for repair/service, new/used sales, and rental returns or pick-ups.
- Maintains yard and warehouse in a neat and orderly fashion by properly arranging equipment for display and removing trash or scrap metals daily.
- Maintains on a PC or smartphone daily gate logs of all machine transactions and disburses it to appropriate GPEC personnel.
- Performs routine new, used, or rental equipment preparations such as cleaning, checking and filling fluid levels and performing minor adjustments.
- Takes digital photographs of used equipment on the yard and emails to the Used Equipment Management team.
- Transfers miscellaneous equipment items to other branches using the GPEC transportation system.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
GED/ High School graduate preferred; must have ability to read and comprehend written information and understand verbal directions.
Work Experience:
- Demonstrates and communicates genuine customer service skills.
- Has operated or can quickly learn to operate various construction and industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend shipping information and follow through on verbal communications.
Physical:
Has physical ability to climb upon and operate equipment numerous times on a daily basis.
Other:
Must have beginner/intermediate PC exposure to enter basic information into mainly MS software.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet our requirements to be added to the GPEC driver insurance.
